Vanilla and coconut DIY homemade body scrub

Vanilla & Coconut DIY homemade body scrub | A Little Bit Of Lisa

I don’t know about you, but rubbing dessert all over my body is pretty much what I live for.
Although smothering chocolate cake all over your butt is satisfying it doesn’t really have any benefits… so I thought I’d be clever and make some actual body scrub.
I did a bit of googling and made up my own “recipe” with stuff I had in the kitchen cupboard. It made my skin feel amazing and smell so-o-o-o-o-o good.

Being healthy means taking care of every part of your life – including your skin and sanity! Here’s how I made my very own DIY homemade body scrub, for your reading, viewing and sugar-sniffin’ pleasure.

❤ You will need: 1/3 cup of raw sugar, 1/3 cup of white sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla and 1/3-ish cup of coconut oil.
I say 1/3-ish of coconut oil because it usually comes cold-pressed and I had to scoop it out while it was solid, semi-measure it and then melt it, so it wasn’t too exact.

❤ Mix the sugars together, sugar. I used two different kinds to have a mixture of textures because white sugar is usually pretty fine while raw sugar is a bit crunchier.

❤ Once you’ve melted your coconut oil – which I recommend doing by putting the bowl of solid coconut oil inside a bowl of hot water until it melts – mix it in with the sugar, along with the vanilla. Use a spoon because the oil is hot! Burnies!

❤ Then find a pretty jar to recycle and spoon it in there while it’s still warm. The coconut oil will solidify again once it’s cooled down so when you want to use it, run the jar under some hot water. Then smother that delicious treat all over yourself, scrub your dead skin off and then have a damn good rinse.
Don’t use soap or shower gel afterwards because you’ll wash off all the lovely oil, which is super magical and moisturising for your skin.
Also, make sure you give your bath or shower a rinse, too, because it is sugar… and ants like sugar… as I discovered.

You can make the scrub with other flavours, as well. Try using almond or jojoba oil, and mix in essential oils, or mint, for a different scent.
